Sherry Dube is a self-taught traditional artist specializing in acrylic paintings distinguished by their intricate detail and lifelike quality. Her highly detailed style endeavors to encapsulate the colors, mood, and atmosphere of her subjects, providing viewers with a perpetual glimpse into the natural world.
Sherry is a newly elected 2024 member of the Ontario Society of Artists. Her work is found in many private collections across Canada.

Q+A
Which piece of art you've created is your favourite, and why?
I actually have two favorite pieces of art, Autumn Reflections and Sérénité. I love the fine detail and colors that I was able to capture in these works.
What artists do you admire right now?
I aspire to Andrew Tischler's artistic style, his paintings of the New Zealand landscape are nothing short of stunning.
Best season of the year in Toronto
I love the autumn season, for the beautiful colors that start emerging and the cool, crisp air.
Why is art important to you?
I have always admired the work that goes into creating a realistic work of art on canvas. I love searching out all of the fine details that have been lovingly and meticulously applied to the canvas. To me, art is so much 'more' than a photograph as it is fascinating to study a piece of art and wonder on the process it took for the artist to get to the final brush stroke.
Why is it important for people to have art in their home or life?
I believe it is important for people to own art that moves them, that gives them a 'window' into another world creating a sense of wonder and peace. I think we all need that after a long, hectic day at work.
During my breaks, I tend to ...
Watch youtube painting videos, research different painting techniques and if time permits, photograph nature to use for reference material.
